How does the teahouse work?

We don't have table service, so you come in and order at the counter, and take your tea wherever you'd like to go in the teahouse. Tea is served in 16 oz. pots, and we'll resteep any pot of tea once.

Is Macha kid-friendly?

Yes, but we ask teahouse guests to respect other people's space and quiet at Macha, so as long as kids are being supervised properly, it is generally a place where families can spend time together.

What kind of food do you serve?

We are a teahouse first, so the main focus is on tea. The food we offer is simple, and includes things like rice bowls, miso soup, and Chinese steamed buns. We also have cookies and a different cupcake daily. We serve tea sandwiches only with tea service reservations on the weekends. The menu can be viewed by clicking on the "food" link above.

I don't know much about tea. Can you help me pick something out?

Of course, and we have plenty of information to help you learn more about the teas we offer. You can look at and smell any of the teas before making a decision.

Do you sell tea to take home?

All of our teas are available for purchase by the ounce for brewing at home. We will also provide detailed instructions for how to brew your tea with the proper amount and water temperature.
